City Of Lost Children 2012. Bassnectar returns, Zeds Dead Arrives fresh to our
shores. The sound we love is bigger than ever before. Expect mad City of
Children visuals and décor and a huge Hifi rig to amplify the message. One epic
ballroom resonating with bass, one city.
BASSNECTAR - USA
By combining sound and force with weight, the Bassnectar experience engulfs the
senses. It is as physical as it is auditory; the adventure has no rules, no limitations,
and no hesitation in fusing the familiar with the strange or the classic with the cutting
edge. Past visits to our shores blew away audiences @ Rainbow Serpent Festival
and City of Lost Children 2011 ft Bassnectar & DMZ.
Bassnectar is the brainchild of Lorin Ashton, and it exists as an open-sourced
musical project that is as diverse as it is heavy, as raw as it is meticulous, and as
fierce as it is imaginary. Spanning the spectrum of sonic style, the music covers
every genre imaginable and smashes it all into a synthesis of intense, wobbling
basslines and hypnotic soundscapes.
Whether remixing, collaborating, writing, DJing, performing live, or working on
constant social networking, Bassnectar’s music is the lure and social impact is the
sincere intention. According to Ashton, “We are so blessed, and so deeply fortunate
to be alive and awake right now…it’s a basic truth, but it’s very powerful. I think
privilege confers responsibility, and Bassnectar is a reflection of that opportunity to
give back; the motion of my cells bouncing back at the world.”
ZEDS DEAD - CANADA
DC and Hooks are Zeds Dead. They first hooked up in 2004 and formed Mass
Productions. Influenced by the digging in the crates sampling school of hip hop,
Mass Productions released one independent album in the summer of 2007 entitled
Fresh Beetz. It was their first and only release.
In the summer of 2009, the two launched their second collaboration - Zeds Dead
- turning up the bpm and aiming the bass-lines at the dance-floor. Soon after
Zeds Dead (alongside the Killabits) founded a weekly party in Toronto called
BassMentality. Guests have included Nero, Skrillex, Netsky, Mary Anne Hobbs, 12th
Planet, Borgore, Plastician, and many more.
Zeds Dead has earned an excellent reputation amongst a new generation of
producers as artists without borders - genres hold no bearing over their music as
they transcend style and form with ease. By pulling from a vast array of source
material (Radiohead, The Rolling Stones, The Moody Blues, Sublime), and molding
it into their unique brand of dance-floor classics, They have established themselves
as a dominant force in EDM circles and have received recognition and praise from
tastemakers worldwide.
DOV - USA
Dov is the person behind Muti Music, a selector at heart, compulsively picking tunes
for record labels and for your dancing / listening pleasure. He produces everything
from Dubstep to various downtempo, midtempo and uptempo Breaks and also
receiving accolades for collaborations with An-ten-nae and ill.Gates.
His sound when performing represents that of a whole movement of young
producers coming out on his Muti Music imprint and adds directions that you know
are going to emerge more in the future. Known for his energetic sets that delve as
hard into a tranquil interlude as they do into bassline drops and glitched out frenzies.
The sounds to be expected from Dov are always elevated and emotional, whether
downtempo or peak time uptempo in super-clubs, his diversity and experience have
prepared him for the job.
